The last three chapters of Daniel form one final prophecy/vision. They contain the fourth vision that God gave to Daniel. He dates it to the third year of Cyrus, locates it as happening on the bank of the River Tigris, and describes it as the revelation of a great conflict.

Daniel chapter 4 is about another of Nebuchadnezzar’s dreams. There are times when we are envious of the fortunes or success of others, but life can change in an instant. We come to realize that so much is beyond our control and we find dependency on the Lord.

Daniel chapter 3 continues the question of chapter 1: how do we follow God in a world with such different values and outlook?

In Daniel 1, we are challenged by the actions of Daniel and company. They sought to live undefiled in a world that shares little to none of their values, while still being thought of most highly.
