When Jesus ascended to heaven, he tells the disciples in the book of Matthew to “Go and make disciples,” which means that they will teach others what Jesus has taught them and baptize others in the Father, Son, and Spirit. We are here today because the disciples did that. The story of Jesus and his disciples does not end with the New Testament. And yet, it can sometimes seem so far away for us. How can we continue the story of Jesus and his followers into the twenty-first century in Willoughby, Surrey, and Burnaby? What does it look like for us to live everyday as those called and sent by Jesus into the world? TiM Weekends exist to help us discern this better.
This weekend, we have three different offerings. The first course, TiM 1.0 The Story is a prerequisite for the all the rest of the TiM offerings. It addresses the big picture – what is the story of Scripture and how might I shape my life around it? The next two offerings, TiM 1.1 and 1.2 can be taken in any order. TiM 1.1 focuses on the practice of prayer. TiM 1.2 focuses on practices of stewardship – how might we love God with all our gifts, our time, and our resources?
Childcare will be provided at the church. Please bring a couple dollars to help with the cost of lunch.
