All bags have finally arrived! Luis and a few others went to the airport last evening and rifled through their lost & found and there they were! Thanks so much for your prayers.
Yesterday was our first full day of camps and work teams. One team is running sports at the local elementary school, a second team is running a VBS-type of kids camp at the orphanage and my team is painting the orphanage classrooms as well as the outside of the Dove House. We worked until noon, took a break for lunch and Bible study, then free time until dinner.
The wonderful Albanian ladies once again made us an authentic Albanian dinner: qofte (a kind of sausage), along with rice, beans, buns and salad. I love eating together here and am thoroughly enjoying conversations with our teens. We spent the entire dinner discussing spiritual gifts (they asked) and they have so many questions that come rapid fire and non-stop. They’re like sponges and it’s so much fun to be with them, their crazy chants as we walk, bursting into song at times, clapping games that they’re teaching the Albanian teens, and little pranks they play on each other.
After dinner, we split into 2 teams and went into the neighbourhood to play with kids (spike ball), do face painting, and share God’s love through story and drama.
Today we continue with the work projects, neighbourhood outreach, and teaching times, as well as a music practice with Craig and the Sauk music team.
